Serving Mentor, OH

Whether you are in the market for a gas-powered or hybrid sedan, the midsize Hyundai Sonata deserves your full attention. The 2024 Sonata was significantly redesigned with a mid-generation refresh. In 2025, the Sonata will benefit from additional improvements. What are the key differences between the 2024 and 2025 Sonata?

Performance

The 2025 Sonata brings back the entry-level SE trim, which was not available in 2024. In addition, the 2024 Sonata SEL’s optional Convenience package is a new trim level in 2025. This is called the SEL Convenience. The three powertrains available in the 2024 Sonata are also offered in 2025. The standard engine is a 191-horsepower, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. This system features front-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is available as an upgrade on most trims. If you select the N-Line trim, your Sonata will pull 290 horsepower from a turbo 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. A hybrid 2.0-liter, four-cylinder system that puts out 190 horsepower is available. It comes with a six-speed auto transmission.

Appearance

The refreshed façade of the 2024 Sonata continues into the 2025 model year without change. The design is both sophisticated and modern, with crisp, sweeping accents angled across the sides, a tapered roof, and a cascading hood. The wheels make a statement with their pinwheel spokes. Across the front end, the flared grille covers most of the space. To its flanks, large air inlets also hold linear LED headlights. At the top of the nose, a slender LED bar runs from side to side.

Features

In 2025, the N-Line will introduce rear HVAC system vents. Otherwise, the available and standard features offered across the Sonata’s trim are unchanged. These include a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, voice recognition, a wireless charging pad, Bluelink, a navigation system, wireless Apple CarPlay with Android Auto, lane keeping, blind-spot intervention, remote keyless entry, a keyless ignition, rear auto braking with a rear cross-traffic warning, adaptive cruise control, a 12.3-inch infotainment system screen, forward collision mitigation and other features.
